It works by tackling and challenging behaviours around smoking head on. Helping to breakdown patterns around the habit by working on and reprogramming the subconscious mind, this is in fact the exact part of the mind that makes you want to smoke in the first place even though you are aware of all the reasons you shouldn’t. It blows out the window all those self-limiting beliefs like how smoking

Like it helps you relax, makes you feel better, keeps you slim, and that you can’t stop because you are addicted and all the other familiar excuses why you can’t stop. Withdrawal pangs or irritability, mood swings, cravings and all those other reasons why people fail to stop smoking are replaced with feelings of general well-being, calmness, with increased vitality and energy. You will be able to quit smoking for good as the emotional connection and attachment between you and cigarettes will be broken for good.

About 16% of the population suffer from some form of a Phobia.

The most well-known phobias include fear of flying, spiders and enclosed places; you may be surprised to learn that there are actually over 500 recognised phobias!

A phobia can be extremely debilitating and disabling and distressing.  Phobias and irrational fears cause anxiety and stress with those who suffer, and this can have an enormous detrimental effect on an individual’s health and the way they live their life.

Why do we get Phobias in the first place?

Irrational, uncontrollable fear (phobia) happens when the subconscious reacts in a way that is totally disproportional to the actual danger, usually situations where there appears to be very little threat posed if any.

This unconscious response is usually due to a past experience perhaps from your childhood that you may or may not remember.

This can arise when in childhood a child experiences a situation in which they become fearful, that fear can then be exaggerated to such an extent it becomes a trauma. In these circumstances a strong neural pathway  ( a deep embedded thought pattern in the brain) is established linking the situation with the emotion fear.

Even if, over the years, the event is forgotten, the memory remains in the sub-conscious and a phobic (fear) response can be triggered when a similar situation occurs.

How Hypnosis can help you

Hypnosis has been shown to be highly effective in the treatment of phobias.

Hypnotherapy and NLP help you to unlearn your phobic response.

Hypnosis provides the opposite of anxiety deep relaxation, and at the same time teaches the mind a different way of responding to the once feared object or situation.

Hypnotherapy utilises various psychological techniques in order to release the fear, and let go of the phobia, allowing you to feel calm and more in control of your own life.

You will be learning new habits, such as being more relaxed and calm. Although it may seem obvious, these habits exist on the same unconscious level as the original phobia and hypnosis will help to create them quickly.

You will quite naturally come to an internal understanding and acceptance of how the phobia may once have served a useful purpose, but has now become an unnecessary behaviour pattern. The issue can resolve itself under a conscious level of awareness.

For evidence of this, look at the way children eventually learn to not be scared of monsters even though they never actually sit down and consciously make the decision. Hypnosis simply accelerates the internal ability we have to get over irrational fears.

Don’t let fears and phobias take over your life you can overcome it.

  • Initial free 30 minute consultation

Human beings need a certain amount of stress naturally to be able to function healthily within our environments.

We actually do have a built in fight or fright mechanism, helping us to react accordingly in extreme or dangerous situations.

Our brain starts to release powerful hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol, raising our blood pressure and increasing our heart rate, ready for us to run.

Back in the stone ages this was essential!

What happens when we are in that state of high and extreme stress every day though?

Stress is something that we can all relate to at times and is caused by multiple different reasons within both our professional or personal lives, happy and exciting events and difficult or fearful times!

It is also worth remembering that what one person finds stressful another may find exciting or motivational.

When stress starts to take over, all that energy and high emergency stress has nowhere to go and that’s when we  really do need to address it.

High stress levels eventually can manifest in our bodies physically.  Allowing a compromised immune system which results in us being much more likely to become ill and in extreme cases even shorten our projected life span.

Not to mention making our lives and the lives of those around us miserable!

Very few people are able to deal with excess stress effectively, often turning to unhealthy stimulants that actually exacerbate the problem further.

How can Hypnotherapy help?

Hypnotherapy helps by re-educating the unconscious mind, and helping you to learn to respond in a positive manner to your triggers of stress.

Deep relaxation techniques and self-hypnosis methods are taught and explored at length. Allowing you all the tools and strategies you will ever need to manage levels of stress effectively.

There really is something you can do to manage stress and lead a happier and more fulfilling life.

  • £60.00 per session after an initial 30 minute free session
  • usually no more than 6 sessions are necessary

Depression and or Anxiety are becoming all too familiar in our modern day world.

It’s a fact that most of us at some point within our lifespan will have personal experience of this.

For some it might just be short episodes of feeling sad or a sense of being out of control, and for others it can be chronic and hugely debilitating, with many different symptoms.

Examples of these might be, not being able to get out of bed in the morning, loss of interest in life, irritability, dullness, extreme sadness, lack of energy, no appetite, the list goes on!

Often Depression is treated with drugs prescribed by a doctor, Anti-Depressants or maybe sleep medication.

However, to be able to treat depression effectively, you need to look at the underlying deeper route causes.

Perhaps you are holding onto negative events from your past, influencing your current outlook or maybe you are finding it hard to cope in a situation you find yourself in presently.

You may not even realise why you feel the way you do consciously.

How does it work?

Hypnotherapy works by addressing the whole of your mind not just the 10% conscious part!

By examining the deepest level of the subconscious, it allows the healing process to commence by positively reinforcing new patterns of thought around any old or current embedded, pain, guilt, memories or stored emotions,.

All those old negative fear invoking thought processes that may be holding you back from happiness will be a thing of the past.

True happiness really does come from within and you already have everything you will ever need to find it and to see it.

You hold all the keys deep inside you already, to be able to achieve a happier life.

Hypnotherapy just gives you the right nudge and strategies, helping you to help yourself!

Treatment includes

  • 30 minute free consultation
  • If you would like to go ahead, the sessions needed usually are  a minimum of 4, up to a maximum of 6, each lasting 1 hour ( sometimes will go over, no extra charge) at £45.00 per session
  • Note It is unusual for sessions to go on beyond six

Panic attacks are actually a lot more common than you might think; they are usually experienced as sudden and intense period of fearfulness.

When someone experiences a panic attack the sense of terror is totally overwhelming and frightening, which can often cause the sufferer to think that they are having a heart attack or breakdown.

Symptoms of panic attacks include:

  • Chest pains
  • Sweating
  • Heart palpitations
  • Pins and needles sensation in the body
  • Feeling of terror
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Feeling faint and dizziness
  • Shaking

How Hypnotherapy can help?

Hypnotherapy helps with panic attacks because all the anxiety and stress that trigger a panic attack have roots in the subconscious.

As well as emotional functions within the subconscious, physical functions are regulated too by this area of the brain. Functions such as breathing rate and heart rate are controlled by the subconscious. Because both the emotional and physical aspects of this condition are within the subconscious a hypnotherapy session allows access to the subconscious of the sufferer using various techniques,

Hypnotherapy works by breaking the cycle of increased physical feelings that cause anxiety that then leads to even more physical symptoms.

Important Note: At no time is a client exposed to the object of their phobia. That is always done by the client when they feel ready to do so. No spiders or snakes are kept at the practice!

  • Free initial 30 minute consultation
  • £60.00 per session
  • Most phobias can be dealt with in a couple of sessions

There’s something about presenting and public speaking which, for many, makes the blood run cold. It’s enough to make most of us want to run for the hills!

It is one of our most common fears. Yet it is something that we are often called upon to do, whether it’s at work, sharing important information or making a report, or at a personal level, giving a short speech at a social event.

We all have to step out of our comfort zone occasionally, it’s part of growing and developing ourselves.  But when it comes to presenting, we often feel very vulnerable because if things go wrong everyone will see.

The fear of public speaking, which is a form of social phobia, is of course irrational but is all too real to those who suffer from it. The good news is that hypnotherapy can help you to get over public speaking anxiety by using the power of your own subconscious mind.

  • Includes one half an hour free preliminary meeting
  • Each additional session £60.00

Nearly everyone has experienced nerves and stress related to tests and exams. It just comes with the territory, it seems. For some people, however, stress and exam nerves go beyond what might be considered normal and may even result in a negative effect on test results. The good news is that NLP and hypnotherapy can help you overcome this problem.

Both a combination of Hypnotherapy and NLP is  incredibly effective in helping to transform any negativity thought patterns and panic around the build up to exams and the exams themselves! Providing the tools that are specifically designed to remove any stress caused by a previous bad experience, feelings of being out of control, or indeed any fears that are usually associated with the exam experience.

How Hypnosis can help?

Hypnosis can help with building up your confidence, helping you to remain calm and relaxed. You can learn how to recognise your body’s unique reaction to stress and anxiety and to develop new healthy and positive ways of thinking and feeling. Deep relaxation techniques used in hypnosis help you to focus inwards and start to build your feeling of confidence, calm and self-belief.

In hypnotherapy you may use visualisation techniques, using the power of your imagination to rehearse or practice a speech or presentation in your mind. By doing so you will have already experienced the feeling of delivering a great performance and your mind has been pre-programmed for success. With your feelings of confidence and control restored, public speaking can be approached with a new level of calmness and assurance.

  • Includes one half an hour free preliminary meeting
  • Each additional session £60.00

Lack of self-esteem is a major problem for many people and it has many causes that can interfere with a person’s life to varying degrees.

It quite often originates from an invalidating relationship with one’s parents, or perhaps other people that may have had a major influence on a person’s life.  We are never born with lack of self-esteem it is learnt behaviour. Self Esteem is an internal opinion of who we are. It’s our judgement of how we feel about ourselves.

When our self-esteem is low, we have an overly negative and distorted view of ourselves. No wonder then that we fail to achieve what we are potentially capable of.

Low confidence can be a result of poor self-esteem and will often prevent a person from reaching their full potential. Working through your issues in therapy can help by drawing upon your inner resources and reinforcing the positive qualities you already possess.

Self-confidence has everything to do with how we feel about our abilities in different aspects of our life, so can change depending on the situations we find ourselves in.

For example someone might be great public speaking but stutter with nerves when having a one to one conversation.  A person lacking in self-confidence will constantly question and doubt their ability to perform well in certain situations.

It’s not what you are that holds you back: it’s what you think you’re not

Hypnotherapy can also be useful for one off anxiety provoking events such as a driving test, performing in public or any other special event or situation.

Hypnotherapy and NLP helps identify the roots of self-esteem issues, and sets foundations and new ways of thinking allowing you to change your perceptions and build up a good, positive self-image.

  • Each session costs £60.00
  • Average 4 sessions is all that is needed

Addictive Patterns and Behaviours

The term addiction is really only used to describe typically a physical or psychological dependency. To summarise, a problem behaviour is any behaviour that compromises, disrupts or damages family, employment, health, personal or recreational pursuits.

Hypnotherapy can be a very effective way of dealing addictive personality/behaviours.

The only way to access the part of the mind ( the subconscious) where we store addictive patterns is through Hypnotherapy

The hypnotic trance is a deeply relaxed state, and it’s marked by changes in metabolism, breathing and even brain patterns. In other words, it’s both a mental and physical state of being.

During this relaxed state, the person being hypnotized is more open to exploring the mechanics of their addictive behaviour patterns.

This allows them to explore the ebb and flow of their own cravings with the goal of putting together strategies to overcome them without any stress or feelings of guilt getting in the way.

As with all Hypnotherapy the client needs to be 100 percent committed to making changes, doing it for themselves and not because family or friends want them to try. Reaching the point of accepting you are an addict or your behaviours are out of control and wanting to break free of the dependency, is an essential first step in the process of change. There has to come a point when someone says enough is enough and means it, for change to occur.

There are too many reasons to mention here how and why addictive behaviour manifests each case is unique and is treated as such.

I myself suffered in the past, for many years with a chronic abuse of alcohol and although I obviously could never know exactly how any individual feels, as each case, person and situation and the way we view similar experiences can be very different, it certainly has given me the ability to be able to empathise.

Each case is treated sensitively and with compassion.

  • Average 6 sessions are needed depending on client and circumstance
  • £60.00 per session
